Depending on your chosen profession, Devry University is a great place to enroll at. The technical classes have the latest technical knowledge, and the odds of being placed in a proper job for your field are extremely high. Along with the above reasons, a lot of Devry’s non technical classes are web based, or have things on the web to make class easier. Devry University is definitely a great college for those of you who wish to proceed with a technical career.

Since Devry mostly specializes with technical students, that is their most up to date class. The technological field changes all the time. Each year a new evolutionary product comes out, that put previous gadgets out to pasture. It is imperative that the school of your choice maintain a liquid curriculum. Devry does just that. Even though technology advances extremely fast, humans don’t. This means that a lot of people still use things that are ten or more years old. Thus, it is also a necessity that a class would still educate its students on older technology. Devry classes appear to somehow incorporate the new stuff, along with the old. Since I’m a Devry student and able to see the curriculum, I can tell you we do still learn stuff from the Windows 1998 days. We’re also heavily educated on Windows XP, one of Microsoft’s latest versions of Windows. If you read some success stories at Devry’s website, you start to get a picture of the things you’re introduced to. “A telecommunications degree provides you with broad knowledge,” Jennings says. “I knew where to begin looking when I had issues with different technologies, whether it was a PBX system on the voice side, or a network, or an operating system. I had exposure to all of those things.” –Devry.com It’s a very balanced education, and it seems to be just right.

Despite Devry’s good track record for education, their job placement is a supreme reason to attend. If you’re a student, you will personally get a person assigned to you to help build character when applying for a job. They will work with you on how to present your resume, and even how and what to right on the resume. Not only is this available to you pre graduation, but it’s also available post graduation; forever. Devry is one of the only universities that can boast such a high percent of job placement. In fact, 90% of the graduates that were actively seeking a career were placed in their proper field within 6 months. Basically, if you’re even remotely trying to find a job, you’ll have absolutely no trouble finding one. Simply put, Devry’s career placement is superior to anything else.

In today’s busy times, not everyone has time for classes. Not only does Devry offer strictly online classes, but they offer semi-online. It has all the benefits of a real class, with all the conveniences of an online class. I took my math class in this fashion. First of, all the book for this class was an ebook, meaning it was online. This cuts down on book costs. Basically all tests and quizzes were taken on a website, under supervision of a teacher. However, practice exercises, learning, and homework could optionally be done at home. Of course you were still allotted hours a day in class if you needed a teacher’s assistance. Another online advantage to Devry is eCollege. Some classes put all your assignments and grades online. In one of my classes, even the homework is assigned online. This makes it easier to miss a day, and still turn in homework. Normally when given access to a school’s network, you’re given a space on their server to store files. This still holds true at Devry. However, they take it to a new level and offer an interface to download all your school files from anywhere with an internet connection. It makes it very easy to save stuff at school, and access it at home. Devry is definitely one of the best schools that, is great at making your time there easier by offering services both online and offline.

In conclusion, it’s extremely obvious that Devry is becoming a great university to attend. For such reasons as specializing on technologically advanced students, to offering many services online, Devry is a great choice. With their advanced career placement plan, that is unbeatable, you really can’t go wrong. Devry should be a serious consideration in anyone’s choice of college.

The Prestige, directed by Christopher Nolan in 2006 was a spectacular mystery that took you on adventure after adventure. The actors did a flawless job playing their parts, and the props were all in their correct setting. However, by the best part of the movie was the plot. Two friends who performed illusions and tricks together were separated by a tragic event, which was the death of a wife. The husband blamed his friend for the death, which made them rivals till death. Throughout the movie they tried to get new tricks, until one finds one that isn’t magic, it’s real. Finally all the suspense builds out, and we find out how one of them ends up dying. At the very end, there is an amazing plot twists that wraps the whole movie up.

The acting in The Prestige was perfect. Christian Bale, who played Alfred Borden probably did the best job. His role involved playing a character with two personalities. Each personality loved a different woman, and each of them acted in a different way. Hugh Jackman who played Robert Angier did an excellent job as well. Some of the powerful scenes were you could really see his acting skills were at his wife’s funeral. It definitely conveyed the fact that he blames Borden for the death of his wife. Angier’s role was that of a man who could never succeed unless he was better than the competition. He had a huge audience, and they clapped and cheered after each one of the performances. However, he never gave himself the recognition he deserved. A scene that shows this perfectly is when he tells his assistant to work for his friend instead. You could tell he meant business, as he played the character with ease.

The movie definitely made you feel like you were in the year of 1899. One of the things that was amazing is the detail they paid attention to in the scenes that were inside of homes. They managed to find all kinds of old goodies, like lamps, pots, pans, stoves, and their clothes. The movie took place in London, so the people should be expected to have accents. In the crowd, you hear them saying things that aren’t typical in western society such as ‘mate’, and ‘bloody’. The prison scenes must have been extremely difficult to setup. They had old styled prison bars, shackles, and locks. They also had dozens of inmates and officers in old styled clothing. Even the projects other inmates were working on in the background appeared to be authentic. Even things such as a whole city back then being wired with electricity back then was explained. Around that time there would have been an electricity format war. In the movie, they managed to even to incorporate that. There was nothing out of its place, and it all seemed to belong in that time zone.

The plot for this movie was one of the best I’ve seen. The whole movie was one giant mystery. The plot slowly unraveled during the movie, and then had a huge climax where everything was revealed at the end. Throughout the movie, there were a series of mini climaxes as well. For instance, the part where he shows the ‘real magic’, and the person he’s competing against gets angered. There are also parts where people kid kidnapped, that can be considered a mini climax as well. I think the movie length in general was fine; it wasn’t too long or short. The movie got exciting at the perfect intervals, keeping you on the edge of your seat. There will definitely not be a time where you’re bored during this exciting film.

In conclusion, this movie is definitely a one of a kind. The acting is superb, the props and the realistic setting were of high quality, and the plot line was sensational. If you want a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and keep you guessing, this is an absolute must see. I’d definitely rate this movie a five out of five.

The banning of firearms in America is an illegal act, and degrades the values this country was founded on. They not only play a vital role in many people’s lives, but are useful tools, fun to use, and can protect people from harm. Our founding fathers wanted us to have them to protect ourselves from the government, and would be disgusted at our government’s current abuse, and overall disregard of the constitution of the United States. A lot of people argue that guns kill people; this is untrue. Guns in the hands of a negligent person have potential to kill people, just as anything else.

The statement ‘The Right to Keep and Bear Arms’ from the U.S constitution seems like a pretty solid sentence. There is really no way to misinterpret it. Our country gained its freedom with guns, kept its freedom with guns, and guns will play a vital roll in keeping our freedom. So how is it that cities like Chicago can completely ban the right to protect ourselves? Legally they can’t. The beauty of the constitution is that it can be changed. The founding fathers knew they couldn’t predict the future, thus made the constitution a flexible document. An easy solution is to amend the constitution to fit modern times. However, modern times still seem to be very compatible with firearms.

Guns have numerous uses besides killing your fellow man. Hunting is a big reason to own a weapon. Across the country, people hunt game; small and big. Some people might see this as a cruel act, but in most states the White Tailed Dear is amazingly overpopulated. Not many complain when you kill a cow to eat a hamburger, so it shouldn’t be an issue to go hunting. People also enjoy shooting guns at targets. You can do long range sniping with rifles, shoot clay pigeons in the air with shot guns, or shoot targets with a hand gun. Each hobby is completely harmless, and enjoyable. Along with the recreational activities that firearms make possible, there is self defense. Let’s face it - if you’re in your home at night with an intruder in the house, who will act faster, 911 or a firearm in the hands of a trained user? The answer is obvious. In an emergency situation, a firearm is almost an essential. One might argue that the odds of you being held up in your own house are slim; well so are the odds of a gun related death. If a gun user is properly trained, a gun can and would protect people in case of an emergency.

In America, the outright banning of things that out of touch congressmen feel is harmful is all too common. For instance, if you take the year where the absolute MOST gun deaths occurred in America it would be 2003, and the number would be around 30,000. There were 85,000 alcohol related deaths. 435,000 tobacco related deaths. There were even more suicides in the U.S, than gun related deaths. Should we ban all the things mentioned above? Of course not, that’s not what you do in a free society. That car you drive in has the potential to kill people as well. Should we ban cars, since they had more deaths related to their name, than guns do? Again the answer is an obvious no. So why guns? Honestly when you look at all the ways people die in American gun control is so minimal. People die in sex related acts, almost as much as ALL of gun related deaths. That’s ridiculous. In most circumstances, education is the key, rather than the outright banning.

Clearly guns are a valuable part of the American tradition. We’re legally entitled to own them, as they are useful, can be used for protection, cause minimal deaths, and can be used in leisure time. Taking them away is the equivalent to breaking the law. If you want to save lives, make it a law to exercise; that is of course because heart disease is the leading cause of death in America. Banning guns only hurts people who obey the law; it will never stop the criminals who have a rampant disregard any law put in place.
